A blog about animal rescue.

Where every living soul deserves a sky full of silver linings!

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

This is my very first post on this new blog. I am not new to blogging, but this blog is a new one to reflect the world of animal rescue through my eyes. I have spent my whole life rescuing animals of all kinds..cats, dogs, wildlife just to name a few and if I could rescue other animals, I know that I would. Animal rescue is a calling on my life that has found me and I always seem to be thrown in the path of animals that have been abused, injured, neglected, abandoned and displaced. I do not have the ability to turn away from them and sometimes I realize this calling can be a blessing and a curse.

The name Sylver Skies comes from a belief that I have that every living soul deserves a sky full of silver linings after all the hardship they have gone through. I love every one of them that comes through my rescue and I do my very best by them even though, at times, I feel my best wasn’t good enough. I have shed many tears over the ones I lost and the ones I didn’t have the ability or resources to save. I have also shed tears of joy over the ones that I have saved and provide for. In time, I will share their stories. Some I have decided to keep with me until I develop a sanctuary and others I have decided will be adopted out.

Right now, I am working towards raising funds to become 503c Non Profit so that I can apply for grants. I am 90% self pay on all my food and litter supplies and vet fees. I am hoping to change that this year and reach out for monetary help so that I can do so much more. I have been actively rescuing cats since 2013 and I now have a makeshift cattery in a kind lady’s garage until I can raise funds for a facility. I have been talking with and getting approval from the local agencies to open a cat cafe once funding is obtained, but currently saving money to rent an industrial type space for cat boarding and a cattery to open to the public. I hope to have the cat cafe open within a year.

I will be posting more of my adventures and posting photos of the cats in my rescue little by little. I will also post stories of other successful rescues and on occasion share those that touched my heart that didn’t make it. Its a part of rescue and this is no easy job. I have days where I feel like giving up and then I have days of hope and faith. It is a rollercoaster for sure. Just wanted to introduce myself before I get going with this adventure of blogging for the rescues!
